Raw & Luxury Collection
What raw actually means, and why it costs double
Most human hair wigs are virgin hair: real, unbleached hair, but steam-processed into a texture and often blended from several donors. Good hair. It lasts twelve to eighteen months.
Raw hair is unprocessed and single-donor. The cuticle is intact and aligned in one direction, which is the entire reason it does not start tangling at the nape around month three. It takes colour cleanly, holds a style, and lasts three years or more.
The arithmetic: a raw unit costs roughly double a processed one and lasts roughly triple. Per wear, it is the cheapest hair in the store.
How to tell raw from “raw”
- Raw straight hair is never poker-flat out of the box — it has a slight natural body and needs a flat iron to go bone straight. If a seller's raw hair arrives glass-flat, it has been processed.
- Raw hair does not come in five identical textures. Raw is whatever the donor grew.
- Raw hair is not 613 blonde. Getting to platinum requires bleach.
Our raw range is single-donor Vietnamese hair, and we say so.
What is in this collection
Two tiers sit here, and we label which is which on every product page. The raw tier is single-donor Vietnamese hair — currently the Eden unit. The virgin tier is unbleached, cuticle-intact hair from a small number of donors, steam-processed into one consistent texture: a step above our standard range in longevity and colour response, a step below raw in price. If you want the longest-lasting unit in the store, buy raw. If you want premium hair at a mid price, buy virgin.
