Coloured & Highlight Wigs
Colour without putting bleach on your own head
The whole argument for a coloured unit is that the damage happens to hair that is not attached to you. Lifting your own hair to platinum costs a day in a chair, several hundred dollars, and a year of recovery. A 613 unit costs less than the appointment and comes off at night.
The three colours worth owning
- P4/27 honey blonde highlights — a warm chestnut base with honey ribbons and a deliberately dark root. The most flattering across skin tones and subtle enough for conservative workplaces.
- 613 platinum blonde — a blank canvas. Pre-lifted evenly so a colourist can tone it to any shade without a second bleach.
- 99J burgundy — reads dark brown indoors, wine red in daylight. The safest entry into fashion colour.
Care differs from natural hair. Coloured units are chemically processed and thirstier: wash cool, use sulphate-free and colour-safe products, deep condition every third wear, and keep heat under 320–350°F. Buy 180% or 200% density only — bleached hair reads thinner than natural hair at the same density.
